Dear everyone,
We recently had a player experience a disruption of his audio during and after playing SpaceStationSim. Apparently the audio became very dark with no high frequencies.
Two things appear to be at fault.
SpaceStationSim defaults to higher quality WMV files for the opening movie and launch movies. WMV files take control of the audio and video system while playing back, and occasionally we have seen conflicts between audio and video cards and WMV files. These conflicts are NOT between SpaceStationSim and the audio/video card, but between WMV and the cards. Our answer is to switch to MPG files if you experience a problem. This is labeled in the Launcher as WMV- better quality and MPG-better compatibility.
Second, his audio card driver might not have been up to date.
We asked him to update his driver and then to switch to play MPG files in the Launcher. This fixed the problem.
If you run into either an audio or video issue with your machine, first make sure your audio and video drivers are current. You might also want to do an Internet search for known problems with your card.
Second, switch to play back MPG files in the Launcher if the problem persists.
Best Regards,
Bill
