I realise that this forum is probably not populated right now but hell, it's worth a try.
So a few years ago I bought SSS in a small store. I had a bit of fun with it but gave up after about a week of playing.
A week ago I discovered a game called Kerbal Space Program and it reminded me of SSS. So I found the old cd and installed it. Realising that there had to be some patches I downloaded both the 1.5 and 2.0 patch however I can't install them.
The error text I'm getting is in Polish but I'll try to translate it roughly: "This update can't be installed by the windows installer, because the program has not been found or the update considers a different version of the program. check if the updated software is present on your computer and do you possess the proper update"
What I'm guessing is that the patch doesn't work because I'm playing on a Polish version of the game. Is there any way to fix that? I'd really like to use the 2.0 features.

It could be that the copy you purchased is not an official copy. I had that happen once with another game where I tried to install some expansion packs, but they didn't work with my version. I installed a different version of the game and the expansion packs worked. Just a theory.

I have no idea if it is an official copy. I could post a picture of the box and the cd if that helps.

Victuz, The version that you have was licensed for peanuts to a Polish publishing company in 2007. They never paid for nor got the rights to new updates of the game. You will have to buy an English version of the game to be able to update it.
