Hello David!
I look forward to seeing the vertical ISS. Very cool. I will try to make sure it gets posted quickly.
BTW, I was at the Johnson Space Center for a few days last week talking to many of the top managers in the Constellation program. They are using our new software SimConstellation to visualize and distribute critical trades data for the missions to the ISS, Moon and Mars.
It has been pretty amazing going from our SpaceStationSim simulation, to being right in the heart of the Constellation program.
Best Regards,
Bill

Hello Again, I felt it would be a challange to win a spacestationsim game with only two astronauts. Ive posted my success, it was great fun! The station itself is very large so keeping the two astronauts from getting too lonely I had to let them meet up often and chat. This is one station where I had to keep exercising the astronauts so they would use up more oxygen and generate more CO2. I got the contaminants under control by installing two extra contaminant recyclers. So happy astronauts + good atmosphere +experiments completed = a Great Station win.

Greetings, I have posted two more spacestation wins besides the vertical win. The second win is a two astronaut station win. I mean really there are only two astronauts on the big station that I created and won. The third and most recent win is called the Streamliner. It is the most streamlined station I have ever built. It has the experiments and astronauts leveled up and completed to ninth level. The station can hold the maximum number of astronauts easily. The main strategy I play by is trying to get all astronauts to the highest level and all experiments researched to the highest level before all the countrys flags get to 999. I have to resort to buying expensive modules to delay the win point of the simulation, so that I have time to get all the experiments done. The USA Hab module is good for that along with zevezda modules too. Finally Ive refined my experiment order so that all my experiments are successfull. I can now win with no experiment failures. Note: there are plenty of modules you can attach to the station to repeat experiments in so you dont have to worry about not being able to get all experiments to level 9.
Im having a blast playing SpaceStationSim and have learned even more of the intricasies of a successfull station. Hmmm next station might just be a very wide array form... Have a great day David Starr

Did you get to level 9 in each field, ie biology, materials science, observation, robotics, etc? If so, how could you do this with only 2 astronauts, ie 1 field of choice and the maintance guy??

Greets Patman, While building the two astronaut station, I couldnt get the science, and matierials up beyond I think it was 4. That is because I had Sergi and the biological astronaut as my two crew members. All the experiments that fall under the biology though I could get to level 9, and Sergi was maxed on experience, no problems with dangerous repairs with him It did take a longer time than usual to win the sim because Jaxa's flags came in real slowly. The wins you can look at if you wish after they are put up on the exchange board. I ALWAYS choose a biomedical astronaut to join Sergi first, because they can get the O2 production started, and CO2 scrubbing going and even generate extra food for the spacestation use. Thankyou for your question, Sincerely, David Starr

Hello This is my latest Jan 09 win with level 9 all successfull experiments. Sergi, 1 medical, 1 science, 1 matierials, 2 astro techs. This sim is a challenge all the way:) Lately Ive been putting up 2 experiments at a time for example a bio and corn experiment for the medical scientist. That lets them level up on two experiments at the same time, but I think I will change that. I think I will go up only on one type of experiment for the matierials scientist so that I can put up an additional matierials scientist to do the other type experiments. The matierials scientist is one busy astronaut! Two main air modules , the contaminant and the dehumidifyer I had to put extra on the station. Everyone, animals included put out a lot of water on this station. Contaminants were running wild too. Happy New year David Starr [/img]

This winning spacestationsim is astronauts and experiments 9, played on my new dell xps quad core extreme 3GHZ , 4gig of ram, and 8800 nvidia geforce card. The sim rocked! For once I heard all the scream and cries of pain from the space tourist as he plummeted to the earth and got electrocuted. I heard all the alarms too for the first time. My old system only played those sounds after a fresh reload for a few minutes then the sounds quit. This christmas was so nice! So now I have even more fun and enjoy playing SSSim:) David starr

January 29th A wide array space station, stretched out as far to the left and right as I could get it. Level 9 experiments and astronauts , except one astro tech, I won the game before I could level him all up. The atmosphere was astonishingly good the whole game! It sure amazed me. I did the normal rsa medical astronaut so she could start installing plants and doing bio mass experiments, that helped. Put up one science guy he did the robotics and observation experiments all the way to level 9. Put up 2 matierials ladies in red one did the crystal line of experiments and the other did the melting pipe/I-beam all the way to level 9. As I mentioned I put up one astro tech naut Fully loaded the space station 1 tech 1 science 1 medical 2 matierials 1 sergio 1 space tourist thats 7 people I tried to put up every module in the game, but decided the third zevezda would not be symetrical. The lookout portal I keep forgeting to install for looks because too busy with other modules in the shuttle schedule. Space Station sim sure runs nicely on my xps system Ive sure had fun lately. Email address is dave10hosford@yahoo.com if you would like a copy of the exported game file to look at send me a note:) Take care Sincerely David Starr

This is a quick note about Playing spacestationsim. Make sure you dont crowd the destiny module that is going to hold the solar panels. Ive done this twice recently and could NOT put up a single solar panel EGADS! That problem pretty much says "You shall start over dave "
I did put the rsa solar panel up but that powers the station only so far. So be cautious about putting modules on the station that get in the way of the solar panels. Sincerely Dave

SuperSTATION, This is one of the best stations Ive yet designed. It is one of those few times you win with good atmosphere on the station. All the experiments are level 9 and alll the astronauts are level 9 except for that pesky astro tech I add . I have to find more challenging repairs to level him up next time. Next I may not even put another astro tech on the station. Ill probably try 3 medical, 1 science, 1 matierials. and of course one Sergi , he is a given I love symetry. Its quite evident in most of all my stations I create. Have a good one, Dave

Another fun win in april, all astronauts level9, as are all experiments. Ive been putting up two medical/biological astronauts and two science or two matierials. Poor Sergi the only astrotech astronaut working constantly. Have a nice one David Starr
